APPRENTICE PHARMACY DISPENSING ASSISTANT

Here at Citywide Health we strongly believe the success of the company comes from investing in our employees and we are currently looking for passionate and driven individuals with a desire to grow and develop with us.

Our apprenticeship programme gives you the opportunity to work as a key member of our team, whilst gaining valuable work experience within York’s Largest Independent Pharmacy Group. As an Apprentice Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant you will be given the opportunity to gain your Level 2 NVQ where you will gain transferable skills to help develop your career further. Throughout your training you will be supported by a multi skilled team, most of whom have also completed the same apprenticeship, and gone on to become great leaders within the company.

Your day to day duties will include:

Working alongside a fully trained and diverse dispensing team, helping in the prescription process.
Dealing with customer requests and queries, both in person and over the phone.
Liaising with doctor’s surgeries and other healthcare professionals
Completing your coursework in a timely manner
Keep up to date with current pharmacy practice, new drugs and their uses
Respect and maintain confidentiality of information concerning customers, colleagues, company policies and statistics in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from 25th May 2018).

The ideal candidate must be:

Friendly, caring and passionate about patient welfare
Willing to learn and take on new challenges
Can work accurately under pressure and in a fast paced environment
Ambitious with a good work ethic
Be a strong team player whilst also able to work independently
Take on feedback and listen to directions
Be willing to undertake extra training

Salary: Starting at £280 per week, increasing after 12 months to at least NMW, or higher, depending on performance.

Hours: up to 40 hours per week

Working pattern: shadowing the hours of your mentor for the first month and then flexible hours

The pharmacist not only gave us reassuring advice, but told us how to treat it with the dressings she gave us by doing the first one for us. A week later, at another visit, she told us and showed us how to carry on with the care, saying how well it was doing. Care and advice like this would be almost impossible to obtain at the moment. We are very lucky to have such a friendly, expert pharmacist, willing to help so readily in our village. All the staff are helpful and friendly too.

I cannot thank Huntington Pharmacy enough for their excellent service. They managed to source some emergency supplies of tablets for my mum, which have been discontinued for the next three months. Without these tablets, my parents wouldn’t have been able to travel on their holiday and my mum would have been very poorly.
