Blood Pressure Testing Service
In all seven of our Citywide Health pharmacies, we offer free blood pressure checks to anyone who falls into a category listed below. The resulting readings can be shared with your GP practice, so an accurate and up-to-date blood pressure reading can be inputted into your NHS records. Patients eligible for this service are as follows:
1)Adults aged 40 years old or over, who do not have a current diagnosis of high blood pressure and not received an NHS hypertension test in the last 5 years
2)Patients, by exception, under the age of 40 who do not have a current diagnosis of hypertension, but who request the service because they have a family history of hypertension or who are at increased risk of developing hypertension (South Asian and African-Caribbean populations)
3)Adults of any age, with or without a diagnosis of high blood pressure, referred for 24 hour blood pressure monitoring by their GP practice.
PATIENTS WHO DO NOT QUALIFY FOR AN NHS FUNDED HYPERTENSION TEST CAN ACCESS THE SERVICE PRIVATELY (£5 SERVICE FEE APPLIES FOR CLINIC CHECK, £50 FOR 24 HOUR MONITORING)
